Book-To-Film Friday | Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials

It’s Book-to-Film Friday! Don’t know what that is? Every Friday, I will be looking at upcoming book-to-film adaptations.

This week’s adaptation is “Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials” starring Dylan O’Brien.

If you haven’t seen the trailer, here it is:

Doesn’t it look amazing?

WARNING ***SPOILERS AHEAD***

For fans of the book, or those who don’t care about spoilers, I’m gonna break it down for you.

Let’s begin!

Let’s go Thomas, we need to make a sequel…

“The Maze was a success.”

Translation: The first movie did well, so we’re going to go ahead and make the second one.

Not “Phase 2.” Anything but “Phase 2.”

Is this the same helicopter as before? I’m guessing the movie doesn’t let them travel by FlatTrans.

They’re probably all in line to see the midnight premiere of this movie…

Or they’re Cranks being forced to go to the Scorch.

YASSS

“Hey Thomas, we weren’t the only maze.”

Way to be inconspicuous, Aris…

And the world’s “Most Uncomfortable Interview” award goes to…

Don’t trust him, Thomas. If “Game of Thrones” is any indication…

For the people who didn’t read the books, here’s a convenient file of exposition.

“WCKD is hiding something.”

Of course WCKD is hiding something! They wiped your memory and put you in a Maze for no apparent reason.

They really aren’t hiding it well…

Sniper, no sniping!

*Has flashback to ‘The Maze Runner’*

Is this Divergent?

It looks like Divergent.

Theresa, you don’t belong here. Go back to Group B.

Why are we posing? Because we look majestic AF.

NOT THE DEATH LIGHTNING!

Action. Romance. This movie has everything!

It even has a cameo by Boba Fett!

Dude is WAYYY past the Gone.

Me, after I see this movie.

Theresa: The Betrayer

Is this Minho? It’s probably Minho.

Group B doesn’t mess around. #GirlPower

They only wanted to help the Gladers. No good deed goes unpunished, eh?

I thought WCKD didn’t allow guns. This Crank has a belt-fed machine gun.

Why are people always falling off of things?

YES.
